Ukrainian Hacktivists Claim Major Breach of Russian Drone Manufacturer Gaskar Group
July 15, 2025
A Ukrainian hacktivist collective known as BO Team claims to have infiltrated and dismantled the digital infrastructure of Gaskar Group, a Russian drone manufacturer reportedly tied to military operations.
In a statement published on its Telegram channel, BO Team said it collaborated with the Ukrainian Cyber Alliance and Ukraine’s military intelligence to execute the coordinated cyberattack.
Widespread Disruption and Data Theft
According to the group, the operation involved the seizure of Gaskar Group’s entire server network, followed by the destruction of over 250 systems. This includes 46 virtual servers, more than 200 workstations, and the erasure of 47 terabytes of data, along with 10 terabytes of backups.
The attackers also claimed to have exfiltrated personal data belonging to company employees, such as home addresses and family information, before rendering the infrastructure inoperable.
Targeting Military Supply Chains
Gaskar Group is reportedly one of the companies supplying drones to the Russian military, which has made extensive use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) throughout the conflict in Ukraine.
The hacktivist groups described their cyber operation as a strategic effort to gather intelligence on existing and future drone models, while simultaneously crippling Gaskar’s operational capacity.
No Immediate Response from Gaskar
As of now, Gaskar Group has not commented publicly on the reported breach. A request for comment sent to the company's Telegram contact went unanswered.
This latest attack is part of an intensifying digital front in the Russia-Ukraine war, where cyber operations have become an extension of the battlefield — with hacktivist groups playing a growing role in state-aligned disruptions.
