Irish Investment Fund Launches €40 M in New Programs to Back Tech Startups Across AI, Web, and Mobile Sectors
July 10, 2025
Leading Irish investment fund Axel Capital has announced the launch of three new funding programs totaling €4.1 million, aimed at supporting high-potential startups in web applications, mobile innovation, and artificial intelligence. The fund, which has a strong track record in early-stage tech investment, is expanding its focus to target scalable, industry-transforming technologies with real-world impact.
“Our mission is to empower bold, tech-driven founders who are solving practical challenges in key industries,” said Markus Weber, Marketing Director at Axel Capital. “These programs are designed to offer more than capital—they offer a launchpad for scalable growth, targeted at ventures with a clear path to market traction and long-term value.”
The Three Investment Programs:
Web Solutions Accelerator
This program supports the development of high-impact web-based platforms, including CRM, ERP, CMS systems, and advanced database tools. It targets early-stage startups building scalable products that improve data management and operational efficiency in sectors like real estate, HR, insurance, and tourism.
Mobile & Gaming Innovation
Focused on the mobile and gaming ecosystem, this initiative backs applications and games with strong commercial potential. Priority is given to ventures reimagining user experience or offering compelling value in industries such as sports, food & beverage, automotive, and travel.
AI Impact Program
With the largest allocation, this program funds artificial intelligence solutions that disrupt traditional business models. From predictive analytics to intelligent automation, it targets startups applying AI in real estate, insurance, HR, and beyond—emphasizing practical, data-driven technologies.
Investing in Real-World Impact
The fund’s investment thesis centers on practical innovation and industry transformation. By combining digital scalability with deep sector knowledge, the firm aims to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and market-ready solutions.
“Our focus is on startups that pair tech excellence with sector insight,” said Markus Weber. “We want to see founders who understand the nuances of their target industries and who are building tools that deliver measurable impact.”
Applications for the programs are now open, and the fund is actively seeking partnerships with founders across Ireland and Europe.
